Wet, sticky, fibrous or strongly compacting materials may build up around the screw shaft or intermediate bearings. These materials can reduce capacity, increase drive load and create blockage risks.
Abrasive materials may require reinforced screw flights, wear-resistant liners or thicker trough sections. Elevated-temperature applications require confirmation of the bearings, seals, lubricant, screw shaft and casing arrangement.
Clinker, large particles and highly abrasive materials should not be treated as standard powder applications. A chain conveyor or another heavy-duty conveying method may be more suitable.
How Does an LS Type Screw Conveyor Work?
Material enters the trough through one or more inlets. The gear motor rotates the screw shaft, and the helical flights push the material along the casing toward the discharge outlet.
